Essential tips to unify the mind, body and spirit

Deep down we all like to feel whole inside. It gives us a genuine sense of satisfaction. Experiencing everything flowing together smoothly empowers us with creativity. It can be a challenge to maintain this state in a world always pulling towards overdrive. A stressful, fragmented existence will eventually catch up with us and force us to slow down with the onset of physical ailments.

Instead of letting life pull us along for a bumpy ride, we can choose to allow a flow of co-creative action between us and the universe in more of a dance with life. It’s not us controlling the universe with our egos. We are taking part in a balanced give and receive partnership. Neither controls the other and there is an interconnected bond unifying both. As we become unified within, we become one with the universe, and it responds to us in reflection of our intentions. Here are a few techniques to apply unity within ourselves.

The Art of Meditation

The act of silent observation through meditation will provide us with integration. It is highly supportive towards calming and balancing us internally. There have been many scientific studies done proving the positive physiological and psychological changes that occur during meditation. It’s safe to say stress reduction and relaxation would do this world a great service.

Meditation slows us down to find an inner stillness within that is always with us. It aims to reveal a peaceful presence where there is no judgement. It shows us that we are much, much more than the drama of our thoughts and emotions. We are the observer behind them and the actor playing out their tale. We have complete freewill to steer the story any way we please.

Being Present with Nature

Spending time in nature will also bring us a sense of wholeness. The physical healing benefit of fresh air alone is enough reason to get outside. While walking, our bodies release endorphins, our natural feel good chemicals. Coupled with the beautiful scenery nature has to offer, we have a perfectly intermingled match. Much scientific research has revealed that physical contact with the earth has numerous healing benefits. The practice of “Earthing” has gained widespread popularity because people feel positive results from touching the earth.

There is a resonation of stillness that occurs when out in nature. It allows for clearer thinking and can stimulate hidden emotions we may have been avoiding and need to express. Nature inspires connection to all life. It links us to our environment by expanding our consciousness beyond the boundaries of our own skin.

Expressing our Feelings

Journaling is a positive healing practice to take up, as well. The benefit of it comes from the releasing of our feelings. Talking things out, even if it is only to the trusty old journal, is a functional method of expression. The trick is letting it all out without reservations. If we feel lousy, be sure to include that, because it’s the dark stuff that absolutely needs to be flushed. All that hidden negativity wreaks havoc on our body. Friends may give thanks as a result, because there will no longer be a need to vent frustrations.

If we honestly apply these techniques, we will live a more enriched unified existence. We will feel whole and connected with the inner essence of our spirits. It is here deep within us where we have no limits. We are fully free to create and be!
